Bumper damage is one of the most common repairs I do. Low-speed impacts, car park scrapes, reversing mishaps — bumper bars cop a lot of abuse. The good news is that most bumper damage can be repaired on the spot, without replacing the entire bar.

Common Bumper Damage I Fix

Scrapes and scuffs — The most common bumper damage. Rubbing against something at low speed leaves ugly marks, but these are usually straightforward to repair and repaint.

Cracks — A harder impact can crack the plastic. I use plastic welding techniques to restore the bumper's integrity before filling and repainting. This is much cheaper than buying a new bumper bar.

Dents and deformation — Bumper bars can push inward from impacts. I reshape the plastic using heat and pressure, then finish with paint if needed.

Paint peeling — If your bumper paint is peeling or flaking, I can strip, prep, and respray it to restore the finish.

Repair vs. Replacement

A new bumper bar — including purchase, painting, and fitting — can cost over $1,000 easily, and much more for prestige vehicles. In most cases, I can repair the existing bumper for a fraction of that cost, with a result that looks just as good.
